Integrating refugees through its own operations, and now through its supply chain

Chobani has been a pioneer in refugee integration, successfully hiring and integrating refugees into its operations from the company's early days. So becoming an UNSTUCK partner was a natural extension for the brand.

Through UNSTUCK, suppliers have been connected with local implementing partners to further build their refugee hiring programs.  But it doesn’t stop there.  As part of the partnership, we hope to explore sourcing opportunities with Chobani (beyond UNSTUCK co-branded products) in the future. We are also seeing a knock-on effect with other Chobani suppliers - who have been inspired to explore hiring refugees in their own operations.

Finding a new world-class supplier driving vital social change in Colombia

We met Petit Pot at a perfect time in their growth trajectory. Having tripled their revenue growth over 3 years, the brand was looking for ways to expand their social impact and triple bottom line. They were also looking to diversify their suppliers - including those for their core ingredient, cocoa. The timing was perfect for us too, we had just started working with Colombia’s leading cocoa and chocolate producer - Luker Chocolate - to include refugee talent in their Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy and hiring programs alongside our implementing partner, Cuso International.

Soon after Petit Pot and Luker connected, it became clear that supporting refugees wasn't the only thing they had in common. Both companies have the highest standards when it comes to creating the highest quality products possible - with good enough, never being good enough. Petit Pot was thrilled to find a like minded, values-aligned supplier through the UNSTUCK partnership. And Luker is equally excited to find a strategic customer in Petit Pot, a rapidly growing brand in the US market.

Adding simple criteria for simple ingredient sourcing

That’s it. is loved for making products with easily recognizable, simple ingredients - and they wanted to find a way for sourcing those ingredients while having a broader social impact. So when we approached That’s it. to become a partner - our approach and mission resonated, and they immediately started working with us to find ways to support refugees through their supply chain.

Although the That’s it. team has hired refugees in the past, they were interested in expanding their hiring efforts in the future… and a new supplier in Peru offered them the opportunity to do just that. It also gave them access to the tastiest mango they had sampled in months. The new supplier soon became the supplier for That’s it. ® and their UNSTUCK™ Mango Probiotic Fruit Bars. Since then, we’ve connected the supplier with UNSTUCK's implementing partner, HIAS, to help in their efforts to hire more refugees and offer additional long-term growth opportunities within the company.
