Introducing UNSTUCK

An initiative by the Tent Partnership for Refugees, UNSTUCK partners with brands to scale job creation through their global supply chains. How? By helping brands source materials and ingredients from suppliers hiring refugees.

UNSTUCK launched in June 2022 and now works with food, beverage, apparel, and personal care brand partners.

Our Model

Countries with developing economies host 75% of the world's 40 million+ refugees, where they face many barriers to securing legal, decent work. Most of these countries are key sourcing markets for consumer brands in developed economies. By leveraging their procurement power and day-to-day business, brands can encourage suppliers to hire refugees and help strengthen host countries’ economies.

Making impact through day-to-day business…

The UNSTUCK model is frictionless: there is no impact on operations , margins or supply chain . We work with a brand’s existing suppliers, or those with required certifications and capacity, at no cost to the brand.

…means ongoing sustained impact

Our model makes it sustainable for brands to stay involved and help drive the systemic change needed to build economies inclusive of refugee talent.

…and a more authentic brand

In a world of performative activism, UNSTUCK offers brands a model that allows them to walk the talk and achieve their SDGs and ESG goals.

Jobs Get Lives UNSTUCK

Refugees are often “stuck” when they first arrive in their host countries. Their careers and education are on hold, and they lack financial stability, access to basic services and the support networks they had at home.

A job is the best first step to starting a new life.

A job helps refugees get UNSTUCK.

“The minute you get a job, that’s the minute you stop being a refugee.”

Tent Partnership For Refugees

With more and more refugees displaced for longer periods of time, businesses have a critical role to play in helping refugees integrate economically in their new communities. Tent was launched in 2016 by Hamdi Ulukaya, the CEO and founder of Chobani – a multibillion dollar food company in the U.S. – to mobilize global businesses to fill this gap by helping connect refugees to work. Today, Tent is a network of over 300 major companies committed to hiring, training, and mentoring refugees. Find out more at www.tent.org.
